Hi there! The series 3 42mm is now discounted for 250 euros here (lowest price ever). But is it still worth it? Or should I wait for the series 5, so the series 4 gets a lower price?

If you look at it, no matter what, the Series 3 will be discounted moving forward, being that the Series 5 might launch this fall, so if you can wait, I probably would. And the reason I say that, is because you likely will have wish you waited for the Series 4 if that also becomes discounted, and there’s no telling how the Series 3 watch will react with watchOS 6 coming in addition.

I bought the AW3 38mm (I can't stand big watches) and like it for the most part (99%). I like being able to walkup to my iMac Pro and just tap the keyboard and start working. Nice to be able just to quickly look at the watch to check the weather and messages. I do find it acting weird with it comes to monitoring health, but I'm an old foggy when it comes to that and believe in having my doctor yell ....err I mean check out my status when it comes to exercise. I know I shouldn't give up my day job to become a comedian. :D Overall, I think it is a good watch and I could not see me spending more for an AW4.

I bought the Series 3 in June last year, knowing there would be a Series 4 in the fall. But, I was replacing a Series 0, I needed the cellular option, and I knew I wasn't interested in the bigger form factor rumored for Series 4. I was happy with my decision then and remain happy with it now.

So, yes, in my view a discounted Series 3 is worth it. And if you don't have an Apple Watch, it's worth it many, many times over.

Unless you just want the 44mm and the watch faces, the S3 is fine. I still have mine and quite honestly have no desire for the S4 or next series device.

For me the s3 would be just fine. $200 is the most I’ll spend on a watch. For my son, the S4 fall detection and extra heart stuff makes it worth $400.
