Anyone else series 4 battery really starting to get a bit rubbish, mines a launch day model. Charged it last night and put it on for bed around 10, woke up and went for a 15km run. Got home around 9 and it was at 36%.
occasionally I like to run over 20km but I’m going to have to start double checking the battery before I set off I think.

I think it has more to do with watchOS 7. I have a 42mm Series 2 on watchOS 6 that has better battery life than my 44mm Series 6.

Yes, I do still use my old Series 2 some days. It’s an Hermès and I love those watch faces.

what's the battery health? mine's still at 87%, got it a few weeks after launch I usually end the day between 40-50% including 2+hrs MTB rides tracked with the watch

I would love to know the battery percentage on my S4, but I haven’t upgraded the OS yet. I’m still on 6.2.8 and am not ready to part with Force touch yet.

Yeah, I often finish the day from 100% on 30-40%. I know it will depend on usage, but my wifes series 3 gets better battery life on days where we do almost exactly the same thing. Feels like the battery on my 4 isn’t holding out as well. Still, we might both be upgrading with the series 7. Feels about time.

Battery life for mine took a dump when I updated to WatchOS 7.3.3. Currently installing WatchOS 7.4 Developer Beta 7 to see if it fixes it. Doing both a reset and restore from backup, as well as a reset and setup as new, have had no affect.

Before 7.3.3, it would be at 75% after 12 hours. After 7.3.3 install, it goes down to 35% after 12 hours.

My device’s battery health is still at 95%.

Well, my watch has been off its charger for 8 hours so far, after updating it to WatchOS 7.4 Developer Beta 7, and the battery charge is currently at 85%.

So, for me, updating my Apple Watch Series 4 to WatchOS 7.3.3 killed its battery life. Thankfully, things appear to be back to normal with 7.4.

Do it, especially on 7.4 with FaceID Watch Unlocking.

This is because Series 4 actually reverted to a smaller battery cell (due to LTPO screen and S4 efficiencies).

As we all know with AirPods, the smaller your battery cell is, the faster or rather exponential the health degradation becomes as it ages.

Mine's at 75% health (launch day unit) and could get to 10% by 10pm bedtime on busy days which is rare these days due to lockdowns. I'm pretty sure I'll hate it when everything goes back to normal.
