It would appear my Series 4 is defective in terms of charging. I plugged it in yesterday before I got in the shower, and it charged just fine. I put it back on charge before bed last night, woke up this morning to a 53% battery life. I have tried a couple different blocks and older Watch cables. Nothing.. Saddens me to say that I think this is the first time I have a launch day defect.. :(:(

The only thing I can recommend is try a hard reset by holding down the digital crown and power button for ten seconds and see if that fixes the issue.

I am having the same issue :(

Any luck on getting yours self resolved? No fixes for me. I’ve tried everything unfortunately

I’ve tried everything under the sun. Unfortunately it looks like it’s just defective.

Not trying to be a smart a** here... did you remove the covering? I was charging mine last night and noticed it wasn’t moving and sure enough, that plastic lining was on both sides and I soon as I removed it from the charger it worked as it was suppposed to.

Are you talking about the puck piece of the charger? I did double check that and it is all removed. I didn’t have any film on the back of the watch itself.

My puck had it on both sides and it would not charge with it on. Not sure if there are different versions of them (mine is Hermes). My AW3 has it just on the back and obviously has no impact.

I have had this issue with an Applewatch before I think its just a calibration issue. With mine basically, the meter was wrong and using the watch until it died and recharging it did the trick.

I wish that was the case. My watch has been dead since this morning. :(

My S4 died (expectedly) around 9PM yesterday after I was using it constantly and playing with it. When I put it on the charger, I expected some sort of visual cue it was charging (ala iPhone). Did not happen. Jumped in the shower, and came back to it 10 minutes later expecting it to be on - nothing. Tried to power it on - nothing. Took a hard reset as @Relentless Power suggested and came right now. Have had no issues since then.

Apple should have no problem exchanging it for a BRAND new one - given it is well within the 14 days and they will want to investigate it. Go back to Apple and take everything with you. They should not want to ship it off for repairs, as long as they have stock of the one you want. If they do not, I would go back during the week as more and more shipments come in.
