The fact of the matter is, Tim knows Apple loyalists will pony up ANY amount ( even if it calls for financing ) as long as it's Apple.. So, hey..why not ?

I love my Series 2 and was looking to replace it next year but the price increase has really made me reevaluate it. I can see myself going back to a mechanical watch full time to be honest.

Apple are getting pretty greedy and we can only hope all these suckers stop giving them the impression we are happy to keep paying more! lol

what is the main reason to increase the price ?
ECG or they just want to increase price every couple year like Swiss watch. ?

I think the price increase is not for the current tech, i think apple actually wants us to invest in the next big changes for the S5 and S6 i think the extra costs are going to their development budget for new projects for the AW S5 and S6, allowing them to poor money into their development projects to outplay the competition without spending their own profits on this.

Good post. And in some ways, you’re likely right. I’m sure Apple is clearly working on their next project, and even the project after that for the Apple Watch and what it will offer in health advancements. Because Tim Cook has made it clear that they Apple Watch has a future because of all the health advancements that they are seemingly implementing with Fall detection, SOS, EKG, heart rate sensor, even the wheelchair handicap accessibility that they implemented two years back.

It does feel a bit of a farce though pushing the health benefits and pricing it so it puts a lot of people off investing in it. Pushing it over the £400 mark does make me ask whether I want to invest in another smart watch that has such a short shelf life. I was comfortable with paying £360. I know people keep saying it’s only ‘this much more’ but it’s the total cost that I would consider, not the price difference. I feel the same about the iPhones.

It doesn't stop me buying but it does stop me upgrading. I used to buy a iPhone every year since the 3G but as the price went up I skipped the S models, when we got to the 6 I waited 3 years. Now I have a X and this will last me 4 years. I had a S0 watch (given to me) so this, S4 will be my first bought watch, this will hopefully do for the next 4 years. So price increase is bad for business (apart from the deep pockets that will always buy the latest thing and don't care that apple are selling you the same product with a slightly faster processor you probably wont notice in day to day running)
