I have a series 4 44mm space black stainless steel and am thinking about upgrading to the series 7 when it comes out.

i see I can trade in my series 4 for $110 at Apple, but am also considering Swappa.

Wondering what a fair price on swappa would be? It’s in perfect condition.

I’m in a similar situation, SBSS S4 too, I would not expect to get much more on swappa tbh, maybe a little more as a private sale.
For me, IF I decide to get the 7 I happily take the Apple trade in…

you might also want to try sellyourmac.com. I’ve sold them several iPads, a watch, and an iMac, and always got more than Apple’s quote. They pay for shipping, and frequently have promos that will get you an extra $10 or so.

I'd give my watch to a friend or family member before I sold my Apple Watch 4, for one $110.00. In fact, I did with my previous Apple Watch 3.

for giggles went, there - incl band and charging cable: $102 ... with Apple you just return the watch itself, no band, no cable

I recently sold two Series 4 aluminum 44 MM Nike for $200, but had included several third-party bands. I think without bands, I could have sold them for around $160-$180. I would say SS version can get you another $30-$40. So around $200. This is on local FB Marketplace.

Swappa displays recent sales, so look at those - even if not an exact match you can extrapolate a bit. i.e. if the aluminum S4 44mm watches are selling for ~$200 then a 44mm SBSS likely would fetch a little bit more.

Costs you nothing but some time to list the watch on Swappa and see if someone will buy it at the price you ask, and you can always drop the price down if you get no interest.

Good info, thanks. Is Swappa safe?

Well, Swappa says they're safe... :D I'd suggest reading: https://swappa.com/faq/sell

The reality is all individual to individual transactions bear some degree of risk. If you wish to minimize risk, trade in to a known wholesaler (which includes trading in to Apple in-store). However you pay for that convenience and risk reductions in the form of lower payment amount for your trade than if you sold via private sale (swappa etc).

All that said, in my experience Swappa is much less of a free for all environment than ebay or craigslist. Still, with PayPal as the payment mechanism there remains the risk of someone doing a chargeback.

Agree. Most of these sites (Swappa, ebay, Mercari, etc.) will favor the buyer more in addition to PayPal's buyer protection. I only sell something on Swappa if I am having trouble selling locally on FB Marketplace. Less risky and no fees with getting cash in person. I would suggest just listing it locally on FB Marketplace (local pick up only) and wait a day or two. Risk free and no fee. If it doesn't sell then you can try listing on Swappa, etc.

Following up on this. Just sold my series 4 stainless for $210 on swappa.

Just sold my Nintendo switch for $260 there too and had a good experience. Hope it’s the same for the watch.
