Hi all!

I have been looking at Series 3 and Series 5 Apple Watches over the last few weeks. Although most retailers have dried up of Series 4 stock I have been offered a Series 4 Apple Watch for £320.

It is a Stainless Steel Space Grey model- so GPS + Cellular. It comes with a sports strap. The watch is in excellent condition.

Please let me know if this is a good deal?

Thanks, Chris!

Go for it. And I say that strictly because of the stainless space black. There are a lot of customizable straps for this color, The best part is the ‘diamond like carbon coating’ {DLC} for the casing, which will really help protect against scratches, aside from the sapphire display. That by far is my favorite color for the Apple Watch I’ve owned, and the protection is an added bonus.

Not wanting to start my own thread, I wonder if I can piggyback off this one.

Used Series 4 44mm Stainless Steel with Milanese Loop band for AU$700. For reference a new S5 in the same config is AU$1259.

It has about 9 months of Apple Care+ remaining.

Good deal? It's either this or wait for S6. I'm upgrading from an aluminium S2.

Edit: Ended up finding a Used Series 4 44mm Stainless Steel with sport band in excellent condition for AU$550. Equivalent S5 brand new is AU$1179.

If they always on display don’t bother Anyone, the S4 is an amazing deal

there’s a reason Apple discontinued it - the S5 is basically the same minus the AoD

I think it’s a great deal if you can get it cheap

the S4 is the same as the S5 minus AoD, which if you don’t care, makes it as good as the current gen. Essentially the Same processor and ram, both will be supported just as long with WatchOS

recently had the SS S4 models in Canada go cheaper than the S5 aluminum ones...relatively speaking that’s a bargain

I picked up a second hand S4, with no strap, 44mm Cellular in the UK for £220. So far, very happy with it! Agree that if you can get one at a good price then it's a great shout over S5.

The fact that they didn't change the guts between the S4 and S5 makes the S4 a cracking deal. I've had my S4 since lunch and had zero desire to get the 5 and wouldn't recommend a 5 over a 4 where a 4 is a great deal.

To circle back on my situation - I received this one today. I definitely made the right decision in buying used. The Watch is near-perfect (Cape cod cloth in the mail to shine it up even better) and at a fraction of the price of a new one.

Stainless Steel Apple Watches don't hold their value well, so there are bargains to be had if buying used. Add to this they are a lot more durable that aluminium, it's easier to find a good deal.

I paid full price for my series 4 - and with the use, I get from it - it's definitely on my top 10 list of purchases that for me were worth the cost, and so getting one discounted in any way can only be that much sweeter 👍
