Trying to update my series 4 to 5.0.1 and keep getting this error message. Reset both the phone and the watch, phones on WiFi and connected to watch...watch is on charger and at 97%. Any ideas?

I had something similar but not the exact message. Apparently the iPhone could not connect to the watch even though everything looked OK. After some investigation, I put the watch into airplane mode and then back again. From what I've read, you nay have to do this a few times. {toggle Airplane Mode} It worked for me.
Apparently it resets the connections to the iPhone.. good luck.

That will be my next step. Usually they just say restore everything. Was hoping someone here would know a trick lol

Hopefully an apple whiz will come by w/ some good suggestions. It's a bummer but I'm sure it'll get worked out. Just out of curiosity, did you update your phone before pairing? What phone are you using?

Xs max. I usually update everything the day the updates come out.

You're definitely not the only one having this issue. I think that they were referencing the s3 but there is a thread titled watchOS 4.3.2 update fail on the apple community site. He mentioned that ultimately apple sent him a replacement. The latest post was from 9/18.

Yea I just read about that. Hopefully that doesn’t happen here. I believe he said that the replacement wouldn’t update either.

Thanks. Trying a restore now. From back up. If that doesn’t work, I’ll restore again and set up as new. If that doesn’t work I’ll contact apple
[doublepost=1538705503][/doublepost]Ends up restoring and setting up as new. Got it to update. Although I think what worked was bringing my iPhone and watch downstairs to download the update. Stood right next to my router and it went right through. Alls good now, and I guess at least I have a fresh install lol
