I think it would work on every series, just like on all android Watch ....
You only need one app . For example, he has an iPhone.

I get a solid 24 hours with mine. I did get more on the 4 but ill take the AOD anyway over more battery as it feel like a normal watch now.. Hopefully software updates will improve it a bit.

I think it is hard for anyone to give an accurate answer until Apple fixes WatchOS 6.

I don't know about that, but understand your thinking. Certainly there's variability due to different usage and different environments, but I'm finding I get roughly equivalent battery life with my S5 on 6.0.1 as I did with my S4 on OS5.

Early on I logged three days of battery/standby/usage data with my S4, which turned out to be roughly 3.5% per hour over the course of a full day, not counting workouts. I take it off the charger when I get out of bed in the morning and put it on the charger when I go to sleep at night.

Now that I'm not fussing about with my S5 and have settled into normal usage, I'm getting roughly 3.5% per hour over the course of a full day, not counting workouts. Workout usage seems to be roughly the same as well.

FWIW my S5 is setup pretty normal, only turned off the sound monitor. Raise-to-wake and backgroup app refresh is on - though I disabled a couple of the apps that I don't ever use.

No, the display is different.

Go and look at the keynote or read any number of threads on here talking about the new LTPO display and light sensors enabling the S5 to do this.
The display odds the same. It’s just has a new ambient light sensor and controller. S4 is the same LPTO

The S5 with AOD in my case drains battery significantly faster than my S4 did. Routinely got at least 24 hours on my S4 with normal use but closer to the advertised 18 hours with my S5 and AOD on.
Same issue here. Battery life not as good.

Battery life is terrible even on 6.1 beta 4. I’d settle for not good battery life on my Ceramic S5...

Just a quick comparison between my old S4 and new S5...

Normal day with say 10-15 notifications, either an elliptical or outdoor 40-60 minute workout, while listening to music, and average things like checking weather, messages, etc... My S4 would end the day around 60-70%. My S5 with AOD on is around 30-40%. If I turn off AOD, it’s almost back to the same level as the S4...

I think you will see some disparity between those people that say it only has a marginal impact, on battery life...and those that say it has a big impact...Everyone uses their watch in different ways...Different watch faces and complications that need to be updated on a regular or constant basis, different third party apps, etc...

Thank you for the great feedback!
