I have a Seris 5 Titanium watch. I like the watchfaces Apple offers but would like more variety. I know this subject comes up a lot. Some people say you can’t get third party watchfaces and others say you can. There is an ad on Facebook selling link bracelets for the watch. They look nice but what caught my eye was the watchface on the watch in the ad. I did some checking and apparently it is a Seriko watchface. I found a YouTube video that shows how to get this and other watchfaces. Here is my concern. The video tells you to download an app from smmsky.co (Jing Watch) open this app then download two more apps (they are games like solitaire etc..) Now open and use those apps for a few minutes. The video says you have to install the two apps to complete the install of jing watch. From there you are supposed to be able to create custom watchfaces. He never shows how the JingWatch app works. Sounds good but smells fishy. I googled how to get Seiko watchface and this video popped up.
I’m attaching a pic of the watchface I saw on Facebook. I haven’t gone to the website or downloaded anything yet.

That looks like the built in Infograph face to me. No mod needed. I’m not familiar with that app but I’d be cautious if you can’t find out more about it first.

That looks great. How did you get all the complications to be the same color? Mine are different colors and none are that gold looking

All the clock-related complications (sunrise/sunset, timer, world clock, alarm) are orange. You’ll notice that the Facebook picture carefully picked these complications to get the uniform appearance. It even has the timer complication in two of the corner slots, which is not something that people would likely do in the real world. If you want to use other complications, you’ll be stuck with a multicolor appearance. Or, you could use a monochrome appearance and give up the white dial background.

I was afraid that was the issue. I honestly did not pay attention to which complications they used. Now I’m more suspicious since the ad alludes to this being a non Apple watchface. I’ll stick with Apple stuff. As I said, they are nice and I don’t have to download 3 apps to get them. I use the Solar Dial watchface a lot. Thanks for your help

Yeah if that ad is claiming that particular watch face is 3rd party, I’d run the other way.

The solar dial face is beautiful and it’s tied with Meridian as my favorite of the new faces introduced in WatchOS 6. I honestly wish they had made the Infograph face more like Meridian. Meridian lets you customize the dial color independently of the complication coloring. So you can get monochrome complications on a white dial. The Infograph face only gives you monochrome with a black dial. Maybe we’ll get that in watchOS 7!
