Did anyone else switch from Series 4 to Series 6 and noticed less smooth animations, for example when browsing the app view.
Feels like lower refresh rate / dropped frames.

It’s funny how I was using my S4 today and noticed the exact same thing.
S4 and S5 has silky smooth browsing of apps (grid view), while my S6 is a little laggy.

When i use the crown to scroll through complications when building a new watch face the screen cannot keep up with the crown. :(

Still on S4, but don't notice any slow downs. It is flying in the above mentioned situations. Maybe it helps, that it is the 40mm version and biggest fat fonts, so less pixels and content to render. I also did do a reset and re-pair after watchOS7 to improve battery (which it did, just like it did from watchOS5 to watchOS6).

Same settings and watchos 7.0.1 on S4 and S5 and S6 and only the S6 is showing the stuttering app scroll. Tbh, not a big deal but good to know I’m not alone.

I use the smallest font btw if that matters. Aren’t the app icons all the same size?

I think it's related to background activity.
For me it get's much worse and noticeable the first few minutes the watch is place on the charger and supposedly starting background task/syncs etc.
If I then just move around in the app view, it feels like 15fps with unstable frame times.

Just upgraded to s6 - definitely choppier than S4. When in app view, when in transitioning between apps, etc.

IIRC a new Apple Watch will be syncing/downloading things in the first day or two after setup. My S5 was slow/hot/had battery drain for a while after upgrading to it last year. Have been using watchOS 7 on it since the betas and haven't noticed anything amiss.

I got the Series 5 for Christmas. After using it I definitely noticed how the animations weren’t as smooth as my Series 4 running the same version watchOS 7.2. Things like scrolling through the App View and swiping up for Control Center have a choppiness to them. Hopefully this gets fixed with a future update but I’m not going to get my hopes up.
