I have had every Apple Watch since series 0, and never had this issue unless I wore my watch extremely loosely.

I have a passcode and wrist detection on my watch. Ever since I got my s6, it has randomly locked while wearing. Same watch bands and tightness as all my previous watches. So it is either a software or hardware issue.

Has anyone else experienced this? There are no Apple stores in my country, so an exchange will have to be by mail, so I would like to hear if it might be software first... :)

There are already threads about this. It's usually because your strap is too loose, and is probably not a hardware or software issue.

I searched and did not find a thread with this issue.
As i stated I have worn Apple Watches since series 0, and never had this problem, I know how tight to wear my watch. It does not happen when I switch to my s5 for instance.

I had an issue where my watch would lock immediately after unlocking it, but it went away after a couple days. I would just double check your tightness again and clean off the sensor on the bottom as a precaution. Mine always gets a good wash and polish after a few weeks of use.

Happened twice last week. Noticed that my watch was looser than normal and tightened it a notch. Fine since.

Probably because the weather here is suddenly a lot colder (wrists shrink). Same thing happened last winter. I also have to tighten my watch when swimming in cold water. Same reason.

This has been a non stop issue for me since I got my AW6... I came from the series 4 and this wasn’t a problem but I spend so much time every day unlocking my series 6. I have to unlock pretty much every hour starting around 10am. I even tried switch to the band from my series 4 thinking that was the issue and it still happens. It’s making me regret upgrading and is irritating honestly that I have to check my watch constantly to see if it locked and unlock and take it off to clean the sensor when I never had to do that with my series 4
