So I banged my hand against a rock while messing around with friends on a lazy river ride 🤦🏻‍♂️….. I noticed shortly after that my watch face popped off. It looks like one of the cables broke off and I have no idea where it goes.

Apple is charging me $399 to fix (it’s a stainless steel) *pics below*

Are there any other options other than Apple or am I SOL

I’m definitely not paying $399 for a watch that’s 2+ years old. I rather apply that to a new watch.

Looking at the ifixit diagram it appears the piece that ripped off was connected to a metal clasp. Looks like I’m out of luck with that tearing off

Kinda looks like the display cable which is available from ifixit for $20. If you bought a new display adhesive along with it it might be worth it to see if you can get it working again at least until you get your new ultra. Hell if it works you could even trade it in to apple and use it towards the new watch
