Series 8 Paint issue

Hey all!
Have any series 8 owners experienced flaking paint after 6 weeks?

Can happen after 1 week. All depends on how the watch is looked after. The coating is not strong.

I’m very OCD with my thing. This has been very well looked after. All my Apple products look mint even my 2006 iMac looks new. 😂

That does not look normal. It appears you have the "midnight" aluminum S8. The finish is black anodizing, not "paint." Anodizing is an oxide finish that is tightly bonded (or should be). I would take it back.

Quick call to Apple and they shipped me a box to send it back in today and are going to replace it. 👍🏻

Sent back to Apple and had a replacement within 17 hours. Pretty impressive support. 👍🏻

The anodized finish was definitely defective. Should not look like paint chipping off like your images. Something had to go wrong in the anodizing process.
