This is annoying: I keep deactivating Background App Refresh for a number of non critical apps and every time I go back, they are toggled back on. I smell WatchOS 3.0.1 soon!
And once again: toggled a bunch off last night and today they're all re-toggled to on. Have filed a bug report.

This happened to me twice... phantom toggling 😀
After I turned things off the second time, the problem seems to have corrected itself.

I've currently only have background app refresh active for weather, messages, activity, and workout.
I had the settings like this for several days and the battery life on my watch was still terrible.

So in addition to limited background app refresh, I now only have the workout app in my dock (got rid of weather, activity, messages yesterday). I have the feeling my dock was what draining the battery. Time will tell.

Apple requested the power logs from my Watch, so they are aware of the issue

Yah, the dock is nice to have, but I actually don't use it that often. I just wanted workouts there since I use it all the time. Everything else, I am ok not having running in the background all the time!
