its getting worse

last night and tonight its taken me about 9 or 10 attempts to get online, it just keeps freezing on me and making noises. Earlier just after switching it on i got the screen displaying the force shut down in multiple languages. While online its ok for about maybe 10 or 15 mins then randomly cuts me off. When i switched it on last time the num lock key and caps key began to flicker.

im away to go try some of your solutions, not too keen on playing around with RAM and stuff, dont want to muck it up even more and Apple turning around saying it was all my fault.

Gonna phone apple tomorrow

Taylor, step-away from the MacBook...

take a break, you've been at this for quite awhile, you deserve a break! A few deep breaths and maybe a brisk walk about the neighborhood, (or to that Apple Store) even if it is a significantly long drive and a train ride.
