I had the iPhone 7 4.7 inch model, but I decided to go with the iPhone 8+ simply because of the size difference and my aging eye’s or I would have waited for the iPhone 10s in 2018. It’s a fair upgrade not great, but I also wanted the wireless charging as well. So for those that think it’s underwhelming, it’s not underwhelming for others. You don’t have to buy it if you don’t like it but for those who do, it’s a fair upgrade if you have the money.

Please come back when you get the Red 7+ to compare to the 8+. I am so tempted to get the Red 7+. I think it's a beautiful limited edition and weighs less than my 6S+ and the 8+. I just can't decide what I am going to do. 7/8/10? o_O
I have a launch matte black 7+, I almost sold it and bought a red 7+ when it launched but didn’t know if I wanted the white bezels (had a white/silver iPhone 5 so white was non issue), just aesthetically black&red would have been wicked - my favorite colors in one phone no case or skin needed.
I don’t want the 8 or the X but would definitely get a red 8+ if released - I mean I hope they do, a red iPhone 8/8+ in two versions (black or white bezels) would be so awesome!

Coming from a 5s...there are a lot of changes.

If you are not feeling a spend of $700 (or more) is in your future, look at the SE.

And the 6s still has the home button plus the 3.5mm jack and you can charge the phone and plug in your earphones.

So there are some choices...in fact. the iPhone line is at its widest, ever.

OIS was from the 6S. And those are all minor features. The 8 has a bunch of those over the 7 too but none of them are really a huge deal.

True Tone display
HDR10 & Dolby Vision video support
Improved rear camera sensor and support for slow sync flash
Portrait Lighting
4k @ 60fps & 1080p @ 240fps
Fast Charging & Wireless charging

See? Same thing.

I just find it ironic that people with a 7 are so dismissive of the 'minor updates' on an 8, because that is what the 7 was to the 6S.

It’s because people with a 7 are trying to justify why they’re not upgrading to the 8 - they big up the 7 and put down the 8.

Having broken the home button before I like the solid state haptic feedback home button.

And having enjoyed the 4/4s series I like the glass back.

YMMV.

I broke my 7+ and ended up getting an 8+. I really like it.

For me it it’s the subtle changes I like that makes each release feel like a new device to me.

That’s the reason I went from 6 to 7. My 6 developed problems after the warranty expired.

I still find it amusing to read about all the subtle reasons people can come up with to justify buying a new phone. At this point you have to look well below the surface to find good reason. Looks wise the models are starting to blur together for me. I would have to see a completely new design in order for me to upgrade again. Even the X is not different enough for me to commit. I’ll wait to see what comes next.
