When shipments started there was a new batch of people getting confirmations daily, now it's slowed to an absolute stop. This is crazy.

Worst Apple launch in history.

Well there has really never been a launch like this. I'm sure Apple will eventually report that they sold more Watches in the first month than they sold iPods, iPhones, and iPads, combined, during their launch months.

But the part that really is kind of inexcusable is Apple's inability to make the freaking bands. Considering the massive markup on them and the fact that they could have finished their design a year before the watch even came up for sale, if the fact is that Apple is constrained by its inability to make watch bands and that is what is holding things up, that is kind of sad.

Where are all the Apple watches at?

Remember the final scene of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in the warehouse with all those thousands of boxes?

Now you know where all the Apple watches are at. :D

To paraphrase "Desert Pete", "Have faith, my friend, there's water down below. You have to wait before you get, I'm the one who oughta know."

Its taking so long to get my 42mm SS WSB watch I am hoping by the time delivers maybe it will be a second gen watch. Or maybe third gen with as long as the shipping is taking. This launch is a mess. I blame Angela Ahrendts - she is one of the highest paid executives in the country and should have done a better job.

So tell me. You see to have all the answers. Why is Apple having these problems? You are making all kinds of assumptions that may not have the slightest bit of validity. But let's just blame Apple for everything.

As you know, at some point is the very distant future, our sun will expand and consume the earth. I'd like to blame Apple for that happening right now!

They are in the depths of someone's ass. Certainly not on people's wrists like they should be!

HULKSMASH!

I think Apple screwed up by not having enough bands and not getting them done in time. How else to explain that even now some watches that were ordered in the FIRST 10 minutes of the Pre-Order window on April 10 are only now getting delivered. While other folks have ordered after April 24 and received their watch already.

The bands are nice and all, but really Apple could have been stockpiling those guys for a year. I know that is not the way you maximize profits or how modern companies work. But I think Apple tried to get the bands and the watches to all get finished about the same time and this has NOT worked out like Apple planned or expected.

Ultimately it doesn't really matter though. The Watch is either useful or compelling to the average person (or at least a lot of people) or it isn't. If it is, it will sell once Apple can make them in significant numbers. If it isn't, then it will be a hitch item.

It's clear to see they are stockpiling millions of watches for sale in store and the second wave of preorders or "orders" in general are on hold till they have enough stock to launch in stores which will be in a few weeks, at the same time they will start making watches for online orders again

Clearly there have been manufacturing issues beyond the taptic engine problems we heard about. I'm sure they planned for the bands to be more readily available than they are, but somehow that didn't work out.

Shouldn't they be doing both things, fufilling pre-orders and building inventory for the stores. Certainly that's possible.

on Friday there was a huge surge of updates for June deliveries. Especially for the space grey modles which have been lagging the most. Mine included.
I think by next Friday there will be a bunch of deliveries being made. Seems like things are picking up.

Yeah, it's pretty damn weird now. It's like everything stopped. We're on Day #4 in the 42 SG thread, and only had roughly 3 charges since Tuesday. I'm not sure what's going on, but something's not right.

Possible but not now, they already botched the launch. Right before launch when they realized they had no where near enough watches they said online only cause they didn't want lines at stores. Lol do you think we are that dumb. Online only because you have no watches and messed up. Now they are working double time to fix it. No possible way everyone will be happy with how bad this all went.

Maybe I'm dumb...but I don't understand your argument. If they messed up the launch, wouldn't it make sense for them to take care of the one thing they can fix, filling pre-orders? By trying to stock the stores they're attending to a problem that doesn't exist because they never announced when they would be available in the stores.

I just can't believe we're on week five and not every model of watch has shipped to the US.

They really only made 100-200 watches to begin with.

I didn't know that not every model shipped yet. Really?

I have received the 3 I ordered, and all of the extra straps. People in my family and some friends have received their watches as well....

Best launch in history!

Worst Apple launch in history.

You really think the Lisa launch was better?
Seriously?
Were you able to get one on launch day?

Do you know how hard it was to find the special floppy disks and the issues with the reliability?

Behind the preposition.

Sorry. Couldn't resist. ;)

More then 230 thousand watches were delivered on launch day April 24th.
Filling the other 1.9 million+ orders will take time.
pebble, the previous reigning leader in smartwatch sales only sold 750,000 units over the course of a year. Apple tripled that number in 6 hours for pre order.
In my opinion, Apple should have known with the fan base they have to have at least a million watches of different variety ready to ship prior to launch day.

the 38 sg jumped two weeks between wednesday and friday. I think there may be some stockpiling on the models that are shipping quickly. 38 s/s bcd and black sport. I've also noticed more threads talking about the watch functions and less about waiting for it so I think the tide is turning. Besides... this forum represents maybe 1% of those who have ordered? And a good majority of them ordered on the first day and probably have them.

And now, people who ordered a watch from a boutique a week ago are receiving the watch faster than people who ordered in the first five minutes. This is getting ridiculous.

Just a lack of stock to take care of demand. If you ordered space black you will be paying an extra time penalty waiting on the parts to get back from the DLC people to be reassembled.

I sure hope that Apple does not use this new "Introduction" policy to give us the 6S+!!!
