maybe you should talk to IT.
I dont know what the word "cuz" means.
what steps are your trying?
im not taking any step lol i dont know where to start because on the windows computers the server is under (f but that doesnt pop up on the mac i really dont know where to start
You really need to be more specific....
I assume that you are at work and that there is a Windows based server that is run by your IT department? If you are trying to connect a Mac to a Windows machine then you will need to use Samba to do this. You will also need an account on that server. If you have no idea what Samba is, then you need to speak to your IT department to have them help you.
Windows does not simply pop up on a Mac, only Macs will show up.
yea lol i dont know what samba is and yes i am at work you got my situation correct but i got windows 7 ulti on imac so does that count as windows? also is there a payment involved with samba?
Call your IT department
i dont have an it department lol
Well, in that case here is a little tutorial...
smb = Samba and it is already installed on your Mac so there is no fee.
Once you make the connection it ill show the server in your finder window.
We all want to help, but you type like a 15 year old tweaker, cant understand half of what you are saying.
You given us no info on your network, its settings, what you have tried (did you look in the help menu?), what hasnt worked, whether this is wired or wireless, are firewalls in place, etc.
its the equivalent of "my car wont start". Well, that could be a million different things....
I totally agree on the info bit but if he/she is from another country and not network savvy you have to work with what you have.
Either way, the above should work to get them connected.
what info do you need from me i really dont know where to start
