First time caller, long time listener.

I just picked up a shuffle 3G with the ingenious idea of setting it to go using the headphones, then switching to a pair of sennheiser headphones to workout. Great plan, but the headphone controls have already bit the dust.

Just plugging in the other headphones works fine for working out, but the volume is a little low. Is there any program that will allow to set a floor for the volume?

    Thanks for the help.

Can the shuffle even drive the senns? A lot of Sennheisers are quite power hungry and I am not sure the shuffle can competently drive them (even at full power).

You could use a headphone amp, but that defeats the portability of the shuffle (but makes things sound oh so much better).

    Thanks for the reply jampat.

I'm not a big headphone guy, so the Shuffle's ability to drive the Sennheisers might actually be an issue I haven't thought of. I did use them on my dear departed Nano with no problem, not sure how relevant that is to the Shuffle's power. They are the "sport" headphones, MX85 I think.

The belkin/"other one whose name I can't think of" adapters, would appear to do the trick, but the reviews paint them as being as poorly constructed as Apple's own headphones.

That's why I'm hoping I can set the Shuffle to an elevated minimum volume.
