Set up G5 wireless without airport card?

I just bought a G5 PowerMac that did not have the optional airport card.
One has been ordered but won't be here for about a week.
I have an older Airport Extreme base station.
Can I hard wire the G5 to the Airport base station in 1 room and have it pick up my wireless internet in another room?

I don't have an extreme, I only have an express, but I would think that would work being the airport as a wireless client and wire it to the powermac. I have done it before using an airport express.
