I've had my new iPad for a couple hours and it's taking over an hour and it still not finished stetting up - as in, I can't use it yet. I set it up as a new iPad and told it not to transfer anything from my old iPad and it still takes this long?? OMG, I'm about ready to throw this thing in the trash. What the heck takes so long? I specifically wanted a bare bones set up. I want to clean house and not have anything on it and start from scratch with a new uncluttered machine. How can I get that?

I tried powering down, but it kept saying that the setup wasn't finished and would not let me restart. I went out to lunch with a friend and it was complete when I got home. It did not transfer any apps and it looks like I wanted. I think what took all of the time was downloading my photos. I think it could have finished the setup and done that in the background. Further, I think it would have worked better if I had not entered my Apple ID, though I'm not sure if it would have let me proceed without entering one. The good news is that it's up and running and I'm very happy with the new iPad Pro.

I had this the other day with my parents new iPad. Said it would take 5-10 minutes. 1 Hour later and still at 50% I switched it off. Turned it back on and it was magically all set up. More Apple crappiness.

I know, that’s the problem. There’s no progress indicator so you’re left just wondering when the spinning wheel will stop and let you proceed.
