I've got a new 15" MBP. I noticed that if you change the brightness level while the automatic adjustment feature is on, it will use the new setting as the reference for that light level. Meaning, if I swipe my hands over the sensors, it will then return the brightness to the level that I set it to instead of the original level that I changed it from. Is there anyway to reset it to the original reference level?

mine doesn't do that but I wish it would. I use mine in a dark room a lot and if automatically turns it all the way down, and I constantly have to turn it up a few notches. Mind you its the same dark room so I'm fairly certain. :/

So you're saying that if the automatic adjusting is enabled, the computer will turn it back up even if you turn it down? Interesting.
