I am trying to set Files in such a way that .afdesign files are always opened in Affinity Designer 2. I tried to use long press a file and selecting Share and the choose the app Affinity Designer 2. How ever, this choice is not remembered and every time I try to open a file I get this screen (I am opening the file 'Spiraal'):

I think I found it. But it is a bit strange.

I had all files stored in the folder 'Affinity Designer' on iCloud. I created a new folder 'Affinity Designer 2' and moved some files over there. When I open a file from Files app in this new folder, everything works.

I don't know why it is working from the new folder and not from the old one. Maybe because I used the old folder for AD v1? Maybe some glitch in iPadOS?

Anyway it looks like it is working now 🙂

I think part of the problem is that Affinity Designer files are similar to pdf, so Files tries to open it itself. But all you need to do is tap "Open in Desire".

No that didn't work. I kept getting this screen.
The thing that solved it was moving out of the (old) Affinity Designer (version 1) folder to a new folder.
