Setting or app to hide menu bar?

Hi,

Is there a setting or app so that I can hide the menu bar at the top of OS X as I have a little screen burn on my 23" ACD, and am hoping if I don't have the menu bar it'll go away.

You have screen Burn on a 23" Apple? That doesn't sound right.

It's quite common actually, its image persistance, Apple has documented it as well.
