Hey All, I'm new here and was wondering how to set Pages as my default program for opening .doc files. They used to open with Appleworks, but I deleted that program because I like Pages more. Now Safari is listed as the default program. Thank you for your help in advance.

Find any .doc file you have, you will just need to modify one, to modify all.
Control+mouse click on the .doc file and then 'Get Info'. (or just (command+I the highlighted .doc file, up to you)
In the Info screen go down to the 'Open with:' section and choose which program you want that type of file to open with as default then click the 'Change All' button.
