Setting up a friends new Macbook

I saw a thread on this a few months ago and cant find it.

I want to install all the updates and programs, but i want her to get the intro movie and let her fill out her own info when I give it back. How can I do that?

In a word, you can't. The intro movie only loads up during the first boot. Updates are cake if you're worried about it being difficult for her. Just tell her to run Software Update and follow the prompts.

In my experience it's better if, instead of you setting it up for you friend, be there when she first boots it up and help her go through it. Better for her to ask questions and you show her then to have everything already done. That way she knows how to do it for herself in the future.

yes you can. basically, to accomplish this, you must restore the user information or "NetInfo" database from defaults. to do this, check out http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107210. if you have, questions, ask them here. do not do this if you aren't comfortable with the command line.
