So I want to set up my iPhone 5 as new, but I would love to bring over my checkbook (I use iReconcile) with all of its data.

Anyone have a clue how I would go about doing that?

Any app that stores data on iCloud separate from the backup will easily be able to access it's info on a new device. In my case, that's only Doodle Jump. But, I think when you redownload a purchased app, it downloads any app data.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I absolutely cannot wait for more apps to store their settings, or games their saves, on iCloud.

My saves in Infinity Blade I/II and the 50 Angry Birds and other apps is the only reason I don't start as new.

you're screwed unless the app dev incorporated a way to sync via gamecenter or backup just app data to icloud in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage>Documents & Data. Seems like a crap shoot when it comes to games.

What I'm doing is one last iTunes backup to my computer, then using a backup extractor to just copy the game folders to my computer. Then when iOS 6 and the iPhone 5 are jailbroken, I'm going to SSH into the phone and replace the app data on it.

uggh, I too would like to import some apps "as is"
but also read about better to Clean Install.

I like iCloud and the grabbing things just as they were but wish there was a setup you could choose what you wanted to carry-over and what things you could just download again as a clean install.

Would like to keep some game data and flipboard and history for sound cloud but don't need to keep every little app as it was.

I guess I am going to be forced to pay his stupid fee for backup...

I have iExplorer. How would I find the right data for file for iReconcile?

On iExplorer, expand "Apps" and look for whatever app your looking for. ("iReconcile" in this case) Once you find it, right-click and choose "Export to Folder".

After you've upgraded and re-installed the app, you can come back, look for the app, right click and choose "Add Files…" in which you would choose the files you exported earlier.

When I try to add them back to the phone, it does not appear to be working. I do as you said, click "Add Files" select the iReconcile file and nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?

Sorry, "Add Files" was wrong.

For app data, the only thing you need is the "Documents" folder within the app. So all you basically have to do is delete the Documents folder on your iDevice for the application you want and then copy the Documents folder from the app data that you've already saved. (You can do this by dragging the folder)

Thanks man, it worked!
