Hello all,

Just started a new MacBook Air M1 for the 1st time and when I get to "Sign in with your Apple ID", it says "A message with a verification code has been sent to your other devices running IOS 10 or macOS Sierra or later.

However, nothing comes to my iphone via text and I'm not sure where it would go, if sent to my Mini.

I've tried the "resend code" several times to no avail, and on my iphone I can go to Settings > Apple ID > PW & Security > Get Verification Code (...to sign in on another device...), which gives me a code, but I've tried to enter that several times as well but get "An unknown error occurred" message. At which point, I clicked on "Set Up Later"...Nothing happened; I clicked "Continue"...Nothing. The only other option giveb is "Back", which sends back to re-enter my Apple ID & pw...And round & round I go. 🤬

I've re-started both the iphone & Air, and tried again, but same thing keeps happening.

Any ideas?

It'll come in as a system notification to any device that's already a "Fully Trusted" device. Sounds like you don't have one.

In that case, click "I didn't get the code" and then "Send as SMS" to get it via SMS.
