Setting up "Find my iSomething", question...

I tried setting up FMiP for iPad 2 running 4.3.x, it seemed to not want to connect to Mobile Me (I know MM was replaced by iCloud)

Do I have to update to iCloud to do this?

My parents iMac is an old G5, so no Lion/iCloud for that (or is there?).

Yea, I believe you have to change to iCloud for FindMyi to work.

Can you log into https://www.icloud.com/ on your mac? That should be all you need for FMiP to work, but you won't get the iCloud benefits that come with syncing your mac without upgrading to Lion (contacts/calendar sync, etc).
