I'm setting up an iPad for my 70 year old father. He has no email or Apple ID. I have been trying for 45 minutes to find where to sign him up for a @icloud.com email. I need the email account to get him an Apple ID.
Anyone have a link to sign up for an email account.

Thanks.

I went and made a gmail account, signed up for an Apple ID then it gave me a @iCloud.com email.... so I guess one can't have one email/Apple ID username... or at least I could not figure it out.....

This is very possible, I've does this for many people. Off hand I don't remeber the steps, but I think as you set it up, you make the @icloud for your Apple ID there.

No, you just sign up for iCloud on either a iOS or Mac device, and it should give you an iCloud.com email account.

Unless I am missing something, you can only do this on an iOS device but not on a Mac. The mac seems to need a third party email to set up an Apple ID, for some reason...

You can do it from a Mac. I posted a screenshot how on here someplace also.
