Quick question - i know normally you can set up iCloud when you first switch on an ios5 device , however, I just wondered if it's possible to set up iCloud via the Internet instead?

The reason that I am asking is because my OH has an iPhone 3G but obviously she does not have an iCloud ID set up ( just has her normal Apple ID for App Store purchases) and I wanted to somehow set her up an iCloud ID so that when I give her my iPhone 4 - she will be able to use the iCloud features.

I've searched around but it seems (unless anyone knows otherwise) that you can only set up iCloud on an iOS 5 device itself and not via the web.

If you got to iCloud.com from a pc, it gives yu the option to login and says "To use iCloud, first set it up with your Apple ID on a device with iOS 5 or a Mac with OS X Lion 10.7.2. ..."

....yea tried that - when i sign in (on icloud.com) using my OH's Apple ID, it correctly says that i first need to also set this up as an iCloud ID on a device first, before using iCloud.

Looks like she'll have to physically wait until i give her the phone before she can set up iCloud properly.
