Setting up mac for first time

Hi, What should I do once my rMBP comes? Should I charge it fully? I just wondered what most people do to their new macbook/macs.

Any tips for me once I get it such as settings etc?

Charge it. Then just charge the battery as you can and use it on battery as you need, no need to worry about it.

Then setup a backup process, I'd suggest an external drive and Time Machine.

Then explore!

(and don't worry about RAM usage)
