Hi all,
newbie just signed up.

I've had my (second hand) 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 17" imac now for about a year. I've never bothered using the mail app, just stuck with my hotmail account, even though I use mail at work and know its better!

I decided to set up an account the other day but have run into problems straight away. I keep being asked for the account password but when I type it in, keeps asking for it! I'm with sky if that helps, and just set up an sky.com account.

Any help or more questions are welcome.

Very useful site by the way.

Cheers,
Ste.

It is asking for your sky account password.

I know you're using a mail client and not a browser, but check too your firewall settings, so that the Sky mail server will 'know' it's your computer trying to access the mail.

Have you talked to your Sky help service?

Make sure that you have your incoming/outgoing SSL and authentication settings correct. If they are enabled, when they should be off, you will encounter issues like this.
