Settings/control panel disappeared from my dock. Help!

I have no idea how this came to be, but my dock no longer has the system settings / control panel icon, and I have no way to access any of my system settings now. Using Snow Leopard. Has anyne seen this happen before and does anyone know how I can undo this?

Just go into your Applications folder and drag it to the Dock.

Or just go to the menu and then select System Preferences, the 4th item in the list. Once its been added to your Dock as a temp item, click on the icon and hold, then choose Options->Keep in Dock.
