Settings for handbrake??

Don't the presets work for you, particularly the iPhone preset?

As blodwyn said, the presets are a great starting point. Just check 2 pass encoding and turbo first pass and you'll be golden.

FWIW, try an encode with just single-pass. Depending on the source material, every now and then two-pass gives me a worse picture 😱
