Some of the users on my iMac print off far too much unnecessary stuff. Each user has their own account but with the cost of ink and paper frankly I want them to think about what rubbish they print off. Is there a way to introduce a 'printer credits' printing system so they can only print a limited number of documents?

That might require a great deal of tinkering within CUPS, or possible some third-party software in addition.

It would be easy enough to pause the print queue, with only the admin able to resume it. You would then have to go through the list of jobs, deciding what should get printed.

How many "users" do you have on the one Mac? Students, children, co-workers?
