Does anyone know if you can use Setup Assistant (when installing fresh OS onto a MAC) you can migrate the data from a connected external drive that has a bootable copy of the OS? I know you can with Migration assistant, but I've never tried it with setup assistant. Thanks.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. When you get a new Mac you are given the option of using Migration Assistant to get your data from an older Mac or a bootable drive. This is used in addition to the regular setup procedure on the Mac. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I don't know what you mean. 😱
