Seven miles == world of a difference

My school is seven miles from my home, yet the service there is incredible. That is, only there. Is AT&T's network that limited? I'm upset with AT&T's crappy performance in my town.

I have a black silicone case on, not a bumper. My 3G at home is crap, and non-existent even though it says I have it. I'll often go to "O" data, or EDGE.

It's supposed to be GPRS. When I have no data service, nothing shows up at all. Just an empty space where the 3G symbol should be.
