Hey,

I recently purchased an iPod touch 2nd gen, but have been experiencing a few problems that I would like to fix. The first problem I noticed was concerning the sync'ing of artwork. Whenever I manually managed songs on my ipod, and added the artword directly to the songs already on the ipod, they would not display. The only way I can get it on there is to add it to songs in "My Library" and have itunes automatically sync my ipod. My second and third issue are somewhat related. Whenever I play a track after the ipod has been idle for a while, and press the lock button on top to turn the screen off, the song will stop after a few seconds, and I must unlock the touch and start the track again. Many of my songs also skip quite badly, though it's most noticeable on ones I have converted to Lossless. Anyone have an idea what the problem is? Do I have a bad iPod?
Thanks,

There seems to be a problem on the 2G iPod touch with apple lossless files. There was a thread about people who experienced the same issues you are having.

Do you happen to have a link to the thread, or know what it was called? I just went through the first couple of pages and didn't see anything on the subject. Maybe I'm blind. I will keep looking, but any help would be much appreciated!

This is common issue, it happens to all 2nd generation ipod Touch. Replacing ipod won't fix this issue. It only happens when playing files in Apple lossless format after the screen goes off.
Please call Support and have them document this issue and assign case number. Support told me that they will only start looking into this issue after they get enough complaints. For now it is immaterial.
