A lot of people these days have no patience. They need to be spoon fed everything and have it all spelt out very quickly.

If you’re equipped with a 30 second TikTok attention span, shows like Severance would be a nightmare to watch.

In saying that, I found the majority of season 2 to be less enjoyable compare to season 1. However in hindsight, it was required, I’m glad they did it, and it did answer a few mysteries.

I thought the S2 ending was fantastic. It was ironic that Cold Harbour’s purpose had a better test subject. Being vague to avoid spoiling things.

I prefer to binge and not have the anxiety of waiting for the next episode. Are we in 1980’s here. “On the next episode of..” I don’t need that stress I do pay monthly for Apple TV but I have heard many wait for the full season to drop and resuscitate watch it then cancel.

Overrated is a great recommendation, because it means a lot of people like it more than you do.

Highly overrated is even better, because it means a lot of people rate it highly.
That's NOT what "overrated" means. 😂
"overrated - rated or valued too highly"
The word does not imply a particularly higher or lower rating than the observer's rating. It merely indicates that the overall community ratings are too high. Which is the case here. I see it with many pseudo-intellectual shows and movies (such as Interstellar) - if the show makes people feel "smart" - either because it implies complex scientific or philosophical meaning, or because it alludes to "intriguing mysteries" - then some viewers feel like it must be good because it's so "smart"

Valued too highly for whom? For you? Are you the objective judge, and everyone who likes it more than you is deceived?

It still comes down you you thinking too many people like the show for reasons that are beneath you. Which means a lot of people like it more than you do.

If someone calls something "overrated" I take it as a sign that people like it. And if people like it, then I am likely to enjoy it. It's not guaranteed. Perhaps I won't enjoy it and will join you in feeling disdain for silly people. But I don't know you and I don't know how similar your tastes are to mine. So I'll go with the odds.

And I enjoyed Severence tremendously. I reject your superiority.

Season 2 is nonsensical. Every episode ends in mystery. Nothing gets explained. That one episode where you had to watch Patricia Arquette for the entire episode slur her lines was beyond cringe. They made a mistake by going the “Lost” way.
Sounds awful I don’t get how this show is so popular 😂 I took about a week to watch episode 1 of season 1. I don’t think I will ever finish season 1.

I got some love/hate-thing going on with this series... It is a very nice production, but all weirdness is a bit too much - it becomes the emperors new clothes of it all and it just becomes nice fluff for the sake of being smoke and mirrors... I guess that is how you build a following today - be obscure and the viewers can't stop watching.
It is just a bit to close to THX1138 for me - "great art" I guess that makes me questioning what I am doing with my time; watching this stuff...? (it is actually much more rewarding making my own weird stuff - for me; abstract music)

"provide some insight into just what the Macrodata Refinement department does and what "Cold Harbor" really is. A brief teaser for episode that Apple shared on social media highlighted one of the goats, so we might also learn what Lumon's Mammalians Nurturable team does with them."

was this English? lol

I couldn't give less of an ish about this show. Never even seen one second of it. Sounds ridiculous and a phenomenal waste of time.

Ahhh, gave up on this season after episode four. Haven't watched since.

I have a rule about shows with "mysteries" that dabble in all things weird and/or surreal, and it's a rule that goes back a looooong time. (Anyone remember Twin Peaks?) I love the bizarre concepts and freaky stuff. When done well, that kind of thing is incredibly engaging. I love the imagery that often accompanies that kind of material.

BUT. If you want to be weird, you'd better know where you're going, and there'd better be actual REASONS for the weird, surreal stuff. Otherwise, you're being weird solely for the sake of being weird, making crap up as you go along. I'm not impressed by that. Anyone can do that. As a writer, you're basically ******* off with your pen. Don't waste our time.

The first season of Severance was good enough that I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. This season they are spinning their wheels. They are either stalling to prolong the show or because they don't have a plan. You can't keep people engaged by a moody tone and creepy vibe if nothing much is happening.

Not interested. I'd rather re-watch "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." At least they knew what they were doing.
I remember there was some celebrity interviewed a while back and he said, paraphrasing, he never watches TV shows because there's aways a point where the show will start manipulating the audience and becoming predictable because the sole point of the show becomes justifying it's existence. Can't remember who it was. Anyways, I liked the first season a lot after the first few episodes and haven't given season 2 a go yet. I'll get around to it eventually.

You guys think season 2 of Severance is as good or better than season 2 of Silo? I couldn’t finish the latter, and I’ve been dragging my feet to start watching the former! (I loved the first season of both shows)

Couldn't finish Silo season 2 either. Holy crap did that turn to ****. Absolutely nothing was happening with the main character.

I preferred season 2 of Severance to season 2 of Silo.
I just didn't feel very invested in the plot or characters of Silo season 2. It was like I was watching actors saying their lines to advance the plot. And that was after enjoying the first season enough that I read all the books. Maybe I was waiting to see some scenes from the book to happen and they didn't happen.
Anyway, someone could just as easily say the same thing about Severance season 2.

Some people need everything spoon-fed to them, season two a slow burn, but sometimes you have to take time to build the universe. I have a feeling a lot of these people that want instant gratification haven't actually read many books..
Nope. I would rather read a book than watch that horrible show. So that is what I did. I just do not get "Severance" at all.

Not everybody had to get it. My wife tried watching it and she didn’t get it either. Then we watched it together. While not everyone may like it, no doubt the popularity exploded.
