iPhone SE (2016) SEx2 via iPhone 8 re cycle

Thinking maybe if 2nd gen iphone 2 is released late 2018 or early 2019.
Whilst reviewing iPhone 8 early re cycle options.
Amazing I could only be facing a small deficit of £100 u.k. pounds after trade in re claim £400 u.k pounds.
Seems I have more options than I thought being this early into iPhone 8 2 yr contract.
I am enjoying 8 though miss the small device feel of SE.
Another consideration is wait for a new SE and purchase a 1st gen SE as a secondary device.
I'd 2nd gen SE going to surface during 2018

I would wait to in the fall at the latest if an iPhone SE is updated or not, I don’t believe it will be. I think that iPhone SE might see an update in 2019, but we will know more after Monday during the WWDC event. If it is updated, I forsee it being very minor with Camera upgrades, Upgraded resolution, etc.

When I've read my initial post I intended to consider if iphone se 2 is due to be released-I didn't make this point very clear.
Thankfuly RelentlessPower kindly answered.
I shall enjoy wwdc 2018 and continue with iphone8 until mid or late 2019 -unless there's an Inovation Sex-2 released.

I’m excited to see a potential SE refresh, but I’m not banking on it. The SE was my favorite iPhone for the longest time until the X came out.

If Apple releases a SE X2 like iPhone, the basic model is likely going to cost at least USD 600-700+. So in UK at least £600-700+. This is assuming it is gimped like the upcoming iPhone 6.1” LCD phone.
