Hi,

I was trying to connect to my University server (only accepts sftp connection) using "connect to server" feature in Finder. After some research that
"ftps://server.name.edu"
should work once correct login/password are supplied. However, I always get an error message saying:
"There was a problem connecting to the server "..."

This file server will not allow any additional users to log on. Try to connect again later."

I can connect via sftp from terminal.

Is there perhaps difference between sftp and ftps protocols?
Is there a workaround?

I might get third party programs like filezilla later. It just really bugs be I cannot do it 🙂 It must be a guy thing 🙂

Thanks for help. R>

Don't feel bad. I cannot get it to connect either to my rackspace server. FileZilla works just fine. Just strange....

SFTP and FTPS are two totally different protocols.

SFTP = SSH FTP
FTPS = FTP with TLS/SSL

Neither can talk to the other's server process.
