Wow this is a very good idea. I can't wait to try this out when I purchase a bottle of this wax. I'm going to try it on my PS films and see what happens. From what I read about what the product does to the cars, it looks very promising on my PS films.

Question: I assumed you applied this wax on the films before you installed it...Correct?

I didn't use the NXT, i used Mirror Glaze with the same positive results. I did it after i installed the film, was just very careful.

Its bettter to install the shield first, use it for a day, make sure you don't have any edges that are lifting and then use the wax

You don't really have to buff the wax, just let it dry and remove with a microfiber

I wish I would of seen your thread before I went out and bought my PS Anti Glare or at least before I installed the shields. How's it holding up so far?

Hah I just tried it on my sgp crystal and it works brilliantly!!!

Good discovery sir, my smudge free iPhone salutes you!

This might be a dumb question but is there a wax that is organic or natural? If so, that would be a better choice than any old car wax, right?

Stupid question, but could you use the wax just on the glass itself for those who don't use screen protectors or does wax have something in it that would scratch? I don't know much about car wax lol.

To the OP, is your first coat of wax that you put on still working? If so, that would be great!

Just wanted to give the OP a big thumbs up for this! This is pure genius! Didn't believe it at first and then gave in and... WOW!!!

i switched back to ordering the OLE over the PS HD anti...gonna try this when i get it.

Going to try this on my StealGuard skin that I just got lol...
At least I have some great polish :)

chemicals not meant for your hands

I wouldn't do this if I were you. NXT 2.0 is a part-synthetic part-natural wax and contains stuff that's safe to stay on car's paint and not on your hands (and into your mouth).

Look up the Material Safety Data Sheet at http://www.meguiars.com/msds/msds_search.cfm for NXT 2.0... for example, Hydrotreated Distillate (i.e. petroleum). So there are two ingredients that are listed as "R65: Harmful: may cause lung damage if swallowed". The other one is "R38: Irritating to Skin" (Xi means irritant). Xn stands for harmful.

I don't know how much of these chemicals stay on the phone after you buff it out, but I wouldn't take my chances. Stuff can get ingested through eating or smoking.

I'd also be careful with the metal polish. You typically want to wear gloves when using it, work in a ventilated area (e.g. safety tips for metal polishes). You probably won't be making a huge mess polishing an iPhone case, but you want to keep your skin away from that stuff and the little metal particles that come off. After polishing, I'd wipe it down with some isopropyl alcohol to get it clean.

just get some spray detailer, no need to go overboard with creams or paste.

just use Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer. much safer!

You four, Go crap/threadjack in someone else's thread. None of you four have even tried it = you have zero right to critique

Don't use metal polish, that will just destroy the SGP shield (it's like steel wool)

Quick detailer is not the same as wax. Wax actually sets up and hardens, leaving a resilient coating, Quick detailer is just a solution that dries without leaving any residue.

And the guy quoting safety sheets is clearly smoking some kind of drug.. Wax is pretty harmless to skin. Go on any car detailing forum, not one member ever complains about getting wax on their hands. The bottle even says its non-toxic. You'd have to be missing a few brain cells to think about drinking it ?

Bumping this thread because it really does work. I noticed that after 1-2 weeks it's not as slick anymore, but then I just re-apply. Really it still the best of both worlds

Thanks! Good to know a coat lasts 1-2 weeks, thats a long time!

Thanks for the tip
I used megs speed detailer lastnight.

Made a noticeable improvement om my rubbery zagg. Cheers

Has anyone tried rainx or aquapel? Or any other glass water repellent?

those are just water repellent solutions ( hydrophobic) I'm 90% confident it would not work for fingerprints ( made of oils)

oleophobic = oil repellent ( well the term means oil avoiding)
hydrophobic = water repellent

i think him posting the safety sheets is justified. Bottom line, ppl who apply wax to their screens will be touching it all day every day. They will likely ingest small amounts of the wax day after day after day through contact with fingers to mouth/food/etc. How the health is affected after this, i have no idea, but i tell you what....it won't be for the better.

the same can be said about hair gel, cooking oil, the armor all on your car steering wheel, etc etc

Your body can handle a small amount of almost anything that isn't toxic

the amount of wax left on a car if applied correctly, let to dry and then wiped when dry is only a few molecules thick

Im not saying you should go out and drink car wax
