I think I've got my head around the reason to want an Apple Watch despite returning the Sport model in the 14 day period.

My worry is reading the SGS has sudden scratches. I keep my Apple gadgets in pristine condition to sell on as they get upgraded.

Thoughts, should I get the SBSS to ensure no damage or the SGS?

I will use all the time, including for Sport.

My stainless still has scratches. Got a replacement a month ago. Scratches on it already.
I think the question is regarding the Space Black Stainless Steel. Fairly certain many know by now that the silver stainless steel scratches.

I responded to this post as I am considering the Space Black as well and am interested in it's durability.

Apologies for the mistake.

It isn't an easy decision but if they do both scratch I may aswell go Sport & protect it.

Would it be recommended to also get a screen protector?

If your goal is to keep your watch scratch-free, then yes. I managed to go for about a month on my Sports watch without getting visible scratches, but then the coating started to wear off and it started showing fingerprints, so I got a screen protector.

From what I understand the Space Black is th hardest to scratch, so if you are very careful with it, you might manage, but personally I feel much better with having a case on it. And yeah, if you are going to put it in a case, then might as well go for the Sport.

Can you recommend a protector.

Thanks for the replies.

No scratches or marks on my Space Black Stainless Steel with Sports Band. I've heard and seen scratches to the DLC link bracelet but haven't seen any scratches to the case. I've heard of people saying they have damaged them but haven't seen pictures of the damage. I'm sure there are some out there but it appears to be really durable because I'm hard on watches and mine is still perfect. No scratches on the sapphire crystal either and that was my main reason for exchanging the Space Grey Sport for this one.

The regular stainless steel does get a lot of scratches from what I've seen on here but they say you can buff them out. If they had put a brushed surface on them it would have probably been better.

Oh. Well, in that case, I'd say it's totally personal preference. Whichever looks good to you, just get that.
I'm posting from an area where the Internet is virtually non existent, so doing everything at speed of light to try & get sent before connection goes.

Thanks for the help.

I got a 42mm SGS in June and it still looks pristine - no scratches or dings on the screen or the case. I wear it all the time including when I'm playing indoor football (soccer) and bashed it into door frames a couple of times and it still looks as good as the day I got it :)
