Hi people,

Does anyone have the MD5 or SHA1 hashes of Lion 10.7.5 "InstallESD.dmg" downloaded from Apple Store?

I'm getting this SHA-1 value:
51bcb4e75854195789de2f519e08a7b75e94952d

And this MD5 value:
f5cb363981311b3e8b794e57d1f05642

And I'd like to know if they're been corrupted during the transfer.

Thanks a lot in advance!

One of the neat things about dmg files is that they verify themselves when mounted. Just mount it and it'll tell you if it corrupted.

Mmmm, I normally skip the blue progress bar to quickly open the DMG.

Seems that I'll have to wait for it to finish at least once, then. :)

Thanks!

That isn't a very smart thing to do. Doing so can cause data corruption and problems in the disk image or if you install something from the disc image.

Note:
It is possible that you have a newer, older or machine dependent version of OS X Lion 10.7.5. Mount the InstallESD.dmg and check the build version in the terminal via:

Silly me, I was hashing the wrong DMG file in another folder :(

I've tested the actual file and now it gives me this SHA1:

2debf2637801981b8c0386b7cba35c4d8fe4416c

Which seems to be the correct one for the older 11G56 version.

I'll re-download again to get the newer one.

Thanks a million!

Regards.
