That's because it's your iPad. Seriously. You can believe what you like but I will believe what I see on the screen in front of me, which is a perfectly smooth animation with no issues whatsoever.

I'm glad it's acceptable to you. You too can believe what YOU like because what I see in the screen in front of me proves my case, side by side.

I had my iPad replaced because the performance drove me up the wall. I cited slow WiFi issues (which I also had) and got a replacement on iOS 7.

The arrogance is you sitting there trying to tell me I'm making something up. I FEEL the difference, I SENSE the fluidity difference during use. iOS 8 slows the iPad Air down just enough in UI terms to make it discernible next to the iPad Air 2.

What you see is acceptable to you. Congratulations. It wasn't to me, iOS 8 made my Air a nightmare to use. And the ones in the Apple Store I tested out before pushing for the replacement proved it wasn't an issue with my unit.

I know if I foolishly took your oh so superior words for granted and updated again, I'd throw this thing off a brick wall within minutes. There IS a difference. iOS 7 IS smoother than iOS 8. Even if it's just a little it's enough. More than enough to matter in terms of user enjoyment.

Yeah ok, if it makes you feel better. But the iPad in front of me still says different, I'm not sure what you're going to say to convince it tbh.

Oh my God, give it a rest with this borderline incessant pestering.

What is this? Some hellbent exercise to get me to upgrade? I've read your little tirades here and elsewhere. You have an issue with people who don't upgrade, why I don't know. It's a persons choice which software they want to run on their device.

You're happy with your iPad Air on iOS 8, I'm happy with mine on iOS 7. Why do you care so much that you need to try and prove me "wrong"? What makes you right and me wrong? So because you tell me your iPad Air is smooth on iOS 8 I've to just believe you? What makes your word better than mine? I see what I see on my iPad just as you see what you see on yours. End of story.

There was a difference to me, I had it exchanged and now I'm happy with my device again.

Move along and give me peace.

Enough with the bickering. It does not serve or help the OP to be arguing like this.

Peace? It's a forum, this is a discussion, if you want to go and have a quiet sit down somewhere then, well, do that? I'm not stopping you.

Aside from daring to point out that my experience differs from yours, and that your sweeping statement that *all* iPads behave in a certain way on 8.1.1 therefore cannot be true, I'm not sure what it is I'm supposed to have done wrong. If "pestering" means "disagreeing" in your world then yes, I have done that.

Yes I have encouraged people to stay current with iOS because I happen to think that's the best approach; you may disagree, that's fine, again this is a forum and what you're describing is a discussion, not some form of thought crime. Ironically I spent some time last year telling iOS 6 holdouts that their fear of iOS 7 was holding them back, now here you are extolling the virtues of.. iOS 7. Is it always ok to say that last year's version was good as long as it's last year's? Is it always bad to say good things about the current version? You'll have to explain these rules to me some time.
