Hmm, this is getting to be ridiculous.

Shanghai Firm Sues Apple Over Siri

It’s lonely at the top, and litigious.

Apple (AAPL) is facing another made-in-China lawsuit. This time over its software program Siri.

Shanghai-based Zhizhen Network Technology is alleging that Apple violated one of its patents for Zhizhen voice technology product called Xiao iRobot, Zhizhen’s chairman Yuan Hui said the company sent a legal notice to Apple in May, but did not receive a response. As a result of Apple’s silent no, Zhizhen filed a lawsuit in a Shanghai court on June 21, with that court announced on June 26 that it will hear the case soon, according to a China Daily story published Saturday, citing Yuan.

The lawsuit came days after Apple paid $60 million to Shenzhen-based Proview Technology to end an ugly legal battle over the naming rights of the iPad.

Why is it ridiculous? If Apple is infringing on one of this firm's patents, then they have a right to sue Apple. They're just protecting their IP.
