Share Folders

Hello guys,

Everytime I go to a Starbuck and connect to the WiFi I can see other computers in my finder. Some of them I can enter and see their documents. Can they do that to me too?... How can I be sure that I don't have anything sharing?

Look at the Sharing pane in System Preferences and see if you have File Sharing enabled. If it's turned off, nobody will be able to see your files. 🙂

I see this all the time in Hotels and Airports too. iTunes finds shared playlists too. I read about someone finding share iPhoto libraries once too. You need to be careful about leaving these shared services on when you are not at home...
