Share iCloud calendar with gmail

I want to share my work calendar on icloud with my dad who is on google calendar, and let him view, but not edit it. Even after clicking the share button and emailing him the links he can't get it to open.

Apple's security on calendars is preventing this from working. He's probably getting a message about "robots.txt".
