I sometimes use VNC Viewer on an iPad to access my Mac's screen via screen sharing but the one thing that bugs me is that VNC Viewer shows both screens that I have on the Mac.

Does anyone know how to make the the built-in screen sharing on a Mac only share the main screen to VNC Viewer on an iOS device?

I use the VNC Viewer app also, but I don't know a way to do what you want. I note that Apple's Screen Sharing application (on the "viewing" Mac) allows you to pick which monitor (or both) you want Screen Sharing to display. Since that setting is not on the "remote" Mac, it makes me think that VNC Viewer would need to implement something to provide that capability.

Right. They probably could…but it's free.

Too bad Apple doesn't have their own version of a screen sharing app for iOS (with the monitor switch). The Files app is pretty bad for file sharing, also.
